One of the never ending debates in the financial services industry is how to compensate salespeople. On one end, there's commissions, and on the other end, there's a straight salary. Which one is better?
Here's one humorous way to look at the dilemma, courtesy of our friends at Dilbert:

I've been on straight commission for most of my life. My brief experiences with salaried positions cost me more money than they paid me. On the other hand, I know quite a few people who could say the same thing about commission only positions.
